Multi-objective Decision Making
DECIDE (Democratizing AI, Empowering Citizens through Transparent Decision Making) is a Dutch Research Agenda (NWA) project funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO), bringing together researchers, policy makers, technologists and citizens to make AI systems transparent, understandable and inclusive. I am co-leading WP5, on AI decision support systems (AI-DSS), which studies how the systems institutions use to make decisions about citizens can be made more transparent, interactive and explainable.
The Hybrid Intelligence Centre is a ten-year Gravitation (Zwaartekracht) programme funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, uniting six Dutch universities around AI that augments human intellect and capabilities instead of replacing them. I am matrix co-lead of the Collaboration and Synergy challenge, looking at how humans and artificial agents can team up and combine their complementary strengths.
